The 2019 Honda CR-V - 33 Million Canadians Can't Be Wrong
Safe, sporty, versatile, and loaded with a wealth of creature comforts, the 2019 Honda CR-V once again leads the mid-size SUV pack. With two drivetrains and five available trims - LX-2WD, LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring, plus a wide variety of optional accessories there's a 2019 Honda CR-V to fit every budget and taste. Fancy driving the most popular compact SUV with a solid reputation for safety, space, driving experience and value for money? Let's explore how the award-winning 2019 Honda CR-V is all this and much more now!
The 2019 Honda CR-V packs a host of high-tech equipment, impressive fuel economy, and copious cargo space. It also boasts contemporary styling and excellent road manners. Add two fuel-efficient powertrains, including a responsive turbocharged engine, and the Honda CR-V ticks all the boxes for what constitutes an excellent crossover. The Honda CR-V is also a packaging marvel, no getting around it. By the numbers, the CR-V leads in both cargo volume and rear passenger space, and it's near the front of the pack in front passenger space, too. Aside from space, the CR-V really delivers on experience. All materials are pleasing to the touch, and the mix of colors and textures provides an open-air feel. The Honda's multiple cubbies, cupholders, and USB outlets throughout the cabin and massive center console with a sliding lid all win points.
This year's CR-V comes loaded with plenty of standard entertainment. All versions start with a HondaLink Next Generation Audio System controlled by a seven-inch touchscreen colour display, Bluetooth streaming, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Siri Eyes Free compatibility. Each trim gets a custom configuration as follows:
• LX-2WD and LX come with a four-speaker 160-watt AM/FM audio system.
• EX moves up to six speakers and a 180-watt AM/FM system.
• EX-L trims add two speakers for a total of eight.
• The Touring trim gets an amazing 331-watt AM/FM Premium audio system with HD radio, nine speakers, and a subwoofer.
All configurations have MP3/Windows Media Audio playback capability.
Notable standard comforts on this year's Honda CR-V include heated front seats, a twelve-way power adjustable driver's seat with a four-way adjustable lumbar setting (six-way manually adjustable on LX models) and dual-zone automatic climate control with an air-filtration system. All trims also come with rear heating and cooling ducts, a theft deterrent system, steering wheel-mounted controls, and Walk-away door locks. EX-L and Touring models add perforated leather upholstery, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated rear seats.
As with all of their vehicles, Honda uses a combination of active and passive technologies to keep riders safe. Along with traditional features like four-wheel anti-lock brakes and numerous airbags, all CR-V trims come with Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control. Except for the LX trim, this year's CR-V also comes with some advanced safety features such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Road Departure Mitigation. Childproof rear door locks, three-point seatbelts, HondaLink Assist Automatic Emergency Response System, and an advanced engineered body structure make up some of the passive safety technologies used in this year's CR-V.
This year's CR-V comes loaded with some of Honda's most advanced technologies. Wi-Fi tethering, remote engine start, proximity key entry, and a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines all come standard. Every trim also gets Honda's Driver Information Interface. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist come on all but LX-2WD models, EX and EX-L models add Honda LaneWatch blind spot display while Touring models swap the LaneWatch system for a Blind Spot Information and Rear Cross Traffic Monitoring system.
Honda offers the CR-V with a 190 HP, 1.5-litre, 14-valve direct Injection turbocharged 4-cylinder engine linked to a continuously variable automatic transmission with push-button activated ECON mode. The 2019 Honda CR-V has a towing capacity of six-hundred-and-eighty Kg. Fuel economy comes in at 8.4/7.0/7.8 and 8.7/7.2/8.0 for FWD and Real Time AWD respectively.
